This Sunday marked the last Sunday with Nate Wall (*ahem*, that’s me) as a staff pastor at The Gathering. Jen and I (let’s drop the third person) had the chance to share the history that brought us to this place, and why we’ve stayed. Then we reflected on what we’ve learned along the way.

Yes, you read that right. This Sunday, Kevin talked about Jesus shining, a lake, and outhouse; and it actually made sense.

This Sunday, Kevin took us back to his BC vacation with him, sharing where he’s been with Jesus this year, and welcomed us to do the same.

Continuing on in the summer, Mark and Leni Schielke shared their story, highlighting their loop from Caronport back to Caronport.

This was a rich Sunday. Julie Cole taught, told stories, and led us to think about what all we still might have to learn about prayer–whether it’s hearing God, or persevering in prayer for others, or coming to God when our hearts are dry. After that, Kevin led us into a time of reflective and listening prayer, of which you’ll hear a glimmer. And we heard. We heard some good things from our Father today.

So much left to learn . . .

This Sunday, Rod and Amanda Adrian told their story–a story of God’s faithfulness in and through some pretty hard stuff. I’d love for you to listen in, but we had a microphone issue that led to a too-poor-quality-to-post scenario. So, as they say, you had to be there–really.

Shane Sowden preached for the first time at the Gathering, and brought us a great word. He walked us through Paul’s exhortation to the Ephesian church, sharing his own questions and reflections along the way.

Did I say three Sundays in Proverbs? Make that four. Here are some roving reflections from Nate Wall about the oft quoted Proverbs 3.5-6.

Third Sunday in Proverbs, and another massive theme to dig into: the intersection of wealth and wisdom. As Samuel L. Jackson said in Jurassic Park, “Hol’ on tuh yer butts.”

Kevin took us into the second Sunday of our visit to the book of Proverbs. Here he talks about what wisdom has to do with the sounds and syllables that come out of our mouths–and we learn about wise speech from Jesus.
